Too Faced's No Makeup Makeup Face Palette - Currently on sale at $41.80
oh my goodness gracious, look at all that pink + shimmer. i bought this because i wanted a cheek palette with cooler tones than my naked flushed palette which is barely used. i can't stand when my blush or bronzer is super obvious (i mean ive got pink hair + a strong pink cheek makes me look like a strawberry) so the idea of a 'no makeup' look appealed to me. plus the packaging is so pretty i could cry.
I will be honest in saying that although the colours are quite pigmented they are still quite light when applied hence the no makeup look. perfect for day time but maybe not at night. it is the perfect size for in your purse and comes in a metal tin so its fine to travel with. the palette also includes a little 'how to' pull out which i didnt really bother with but again was very pink + pretty + covered in little hearts.
the bronzer is very light with a golden shimmer which i love but you do have to work to build up the colour. this was a bonus for me because i like to keep my bronzer as minimal as possible. both blushes are very pink (my favourite!) but the creme blush has slightly warmer and more natural tones.
all the reviews for this palette i read prior to purchasing it had the same complaint: the concealer is too dark. and oh my god it is. its stupidly dark for a palette that is targeted towards fairer and cooler skin (too faced do a similar palette for warmer skin tones) and is the one major let down. luminize gives a really pretty sheer pink glow, that sort of slightly sweaty + blushing look that im all about in summer. brighten is perfect for on your brow bone, its definitely brightens up your eyes but also has surprising coverage with will make your brows look super strong + perfect. all three have a very creamy consistency.
overall i really like this little palette. it's very easy to use, the colours arent so pigmented that you can really over do it + the shades are some of the best cooler tones ive used. it definitely delivers that effortless "no makeup" look where you've actually spent like 40 minutes on your face but i love that look for warmer weather. a definite recommendation for any of you little petals with fairer skin.

if you're a living organism on planet earth then you would be aware that taylor swift released her latest album 1989 recently. red (her last record) has honestly been the soundtrack to my life the past 2 years; i listened to it almost every night on my way home from work, cleaned my bedroom to 22 on repeat most weeks, drove around with allie playing it in her car, saw it live last december + still never skip all too well when it comes on shuffle. so yeah i've been a little bit excited for 1989.
1989 is an experience. you must know this, so i have prepared for you a small summary of the album.
1. Welcome To New York:
wow. i listen to this + i imagine myself standing in times square and a camera is slowly circling around me as i gaze up at the buildings in wonderment, i have a beret on. my new NY pals + i get into some light hearted mischief in central park, a park ranger chases us. later it is night time + i am standing up in a limo as we drive through downtown. my life is an episode of glee.
2. Blank Space
the verses go super hard but im not really into it. its okay, everyone has their faults.
3. Style
girl c'mon. (imagine this in alaska thunderfuck's voice please.) Style + Blank Space are my least favourite tracks. i am liking this talk about short skirts however.

she had me as soon as she started talking about harry styles bleeding + crying. let's be real.

for me personally, one of my favourite parts of 1989 has been the promo taylor did leading up to it + following its release. every day i am haunted with the knowledge that i will never dance with taylor in her living room while we eat snacks she's baked for us. i can never have that happiness + so i must live vicariously through other people's 1989 secret session experiences online.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation

hello you! okay for some reason i own all of the rimmel foundations. i think because the elusive and rare light porcelain 010 shade is my closest match for a drugstore foundation. i do find though
they end to slide right off my oily face after an hour no matter how much primer i put underneath that wake me up glow. so i was really excited to see that the new rimmel lasting finish 25 hour foundation was in australia + currently reduced as part of an introductory offer at priceline..
i wore it on a 30 degree day to really put it to the test. i teamed it with my standard NYX shine killer primer + applied it with a real techniques buffing brush. The Lasting Finish foundation has the same creamy consistency + scent as the other rimmel foundations. I was expecting a matte finish but instead it has a distinct sheen that isn't as glowy and natural as the wake me up foundation. However a small amount of powder was enough to cover the sheen finish.
I was actually really impressed with how well it held on all day. It's not lasting for 25 hours but it will definitely get you through the day. After 5 hours of being out in the sun my shiny areas were indeed super shiny but the foundation was still intact + easy to blot back into place. None of the usual drippiness i've previously experienced with Rimmel foundations. I honestly feel like it held up better on my oily areas than Revlon's Colourstay for oily skin for a 1/3 of the price.
What else i liked about it:
- Good colour match that doesn't oxidise
- Doesn't irritate skin or cause breakouts
- Natural looking coverage
- Doesn't highlight dry areas
- A little goes a long way
- Cheap!
What I didn't like about it:
- Not a very "light" foundation. I could definitely feel it on my face all day
- Smells like sunblock due to the SPF 20 factor
- Really had to be buffed into the skin initially
Here is a comparison shot of the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation (with no primer, concealer or primer), before and after.
(Also please excuse my weird septum ring. i had lost mine at the time + was using a sleeper earring. not a cute look!!)
Overall i was really impressed with its staying power. i didn't love the satin finish but i think that teamed with a little powder i will continue to use this for the summer when i need more coverage. I would recommend it for all skin types but maybe stay away from it if you've got spots/acne as the finish will only highlight that.

i love winter. i love wearing coats + scarves + dark lips + nails + getting extra pale + slightly fatter. i really love it. but this winter has been the worst. its always slightly humid + anytime i wear a coat i feel like a sticky fat snowman. i have not been loving it. but spring is a few weeks away + i enjoy the lull of spring before the sweltering australian summer starts. this post is a small spring wishlist to get me through the last few weeks of winter because im basically thumbelina when she gets trapped underground + has to marry mr. mole.
im really loving topshop's swimsuit range at the moment. these two are my absolute favourites. the black and white one piece is something i could + would wear for years (i usually get a swimsuit, wear it a few times + then ditch it). BUT i cant ignore how cute the neon orange two piece is and i like the longer style bikini top. they're not super cheap though so im still not sure which one i want to buy. (theyre selling out online very quickly though!)
i have been wasting a lot of time trying to hunt down some scallop hem shorts in BLACK in MY SIZE in a SOFT FABRIC that will cover my butt. i realise these are a lot of things to ask of asos but i am very cute + very important so i deserve this. i think scalloped shorts are the cutest ever + would go with everything plus i can wear them with stockings during the colder months.
i know you're meant to wear florals in spring but im sick of florals. cute prints reign supreme for me this spring. i am OBSESSED with the handsome prints dress, its too perfect. #fuckfloral

the online photos dont do this baby justice. i use the term baby because i have lusted after this jacket for so long now i feel we have reached that level of intimacy in our relationship. it is finally on sale (reduced from $150) + everyday we inch closer to the day i lose all self control + buy this jacket i cant afford right now. as for anyone being like "nicole really? a leather jacket for spring?, IT IS ALWAYS LEATHER JACKET WEATHER IF YOURE TUFF ENOUGH.

this little favourites kit looks great for spring/summer. the nail polish is giving me serious mermaid vibes + everything in a mini size is actually very generous. if you are able to buy stuff from sephora i would take a squiz at this kit. then buy two and send me one.
i really love this style of flats currently + these are two of my favourites that i've found. the williams pair have a suede style finish + the boohoo ones have a faux leather finish. look at the options im giving you here, arent i the best. there is the whole style rule that flats with straps make your legs look shorter, but my legs are already as short + fat as possible so who fucking cares? put on your shorts + your witch flats so we can go get burgers.

a long time ago when allie was jacked up on pain meds following her tonsil operation we booked a vacation to melbourne. we were both the absolute worst at planning + were running around the day before looking for coats + packing + stressing out.
highlights: coconut bread i got at the airport. free wifi. sam smith. melbourne weather being humidity free + keeping our makeup perf for hours. angel the beautiful faced waiter. getting the window seats on both flights. takeaway sundaes. cackling about kim k hollywood at 2am. misty's dinner making all of my dreams come true. naked for satan. personal spotlight in our lounge room. allie asking if i thought people thought we were a couple on holiday at least twice a day. the insane sale at clear it. slow-mo setting on the iphone camera. braiding allie's rope hair. stealing someone's do not disturb sign + hurling it into the hallway. allie falling in love with the mecca cosmetica girl who served her + then fucking it up with her in every way possible.
