smitten with you
Monday 8 July 2013 //

i was going to do a post last night but the season finale of house husbands was on + then i fell asleep googling louis tomlinson. this was the second week of my winter break but i honestly spent the whole thing working anyway. i did manage to start cleaning out my wardrobe + im hoping to sell most of it soon. but i also managed to buy a bunch of new (well second hand) stuff this week regardless, it is a vicious cycle.

so on fridays now i work a double but i have this awful 2/2.5 hour break between shifts where im stuck in newtown. do you know how hard it is to window shop in newtown for hours + not buy anything? it's pretty much impossible. so i went thrifting on friday afternoon to kill time. i have to admit i pretty much never bother with vinnies or red cross in newtown, (C's Flashback + all those stores are okay albeit over priced) because ive always just figured everything good will have already been snagged my some hipster or will be really expensive.

i was pretty surprised by vinnies though, i went on a friday + i still found some decent stuff. they actually have this vintage blue dress for $25 that is so beautiful i could weep but it has a small stain + i cant justify spending that amount of money on a secondhand dress. but i did manage to score a purse. i had the blue version of this purse from forever new but i stupidly broke the zip when i was in a bad mood. so i picked up the pink one in good condition for $4.

i also got this kidada for disney couture alice in wonderland bracelet for $8. its not in the best condition which stinks but i loved the kidada range too much to pass it up.

i also went to C's Flashback which i never do because who wants to pay $35+ for a vaguely ugly second hand dress? but i ended up getting this beautiful vintage blouse for $20 which is an alright price because its in really good condition. the hips on it are a little small for my hips but i expected that as my hips are much bigger than the rest of my body + much bigger than size 12-14 hips 30  years ago. its so soft and delicate though + has perfect little sleeves, i honestly have no idea what im gonna wear it with but it wis honestly so lovely i could sob.

i fell really in love with a dress + bag i'd seen too in retail stores but im trying to save money to go to melbourne so i didn't buy them. i told my mum about it + how i had managed to use some self control + she gave me the money to buy them. i was almost in tears because i just didn't expect it + she said ive been working really hard lately + deserved a nice early birthday present.

so on saturday i went to sophia's to watch disney movies + eat pizza + facebook lurk in onesies, and then the next day she made mickey mouse pancakes + ended up coming with me to newtown. i got this beautiful floral dress from tree of life for $27, and its this shocking super bright pink that i cant photograph well but ugh, can it please be spring now?

i also got this little yellow bag from kaboodle for $22.50 and it's the perfect size + colour. it was reduced + the sale ended on sunday so as i am a tight ass + i had to go before it went back to it's regular price. kaboodle's online store kinda sucks but the actual shop has the nicest jewellery + purses. my mum also bought me a pair of pink leather gloves this week, thanks mum!

we also went back to vinnies where i made heart eyes at The Blue Dress (caps are necessary) + bought this really cute bed jacket for $10. im going to wear it as a cardigan but it honestly is so perfect + soft + i am in love with it a little bit.

so basically that's been it for me this week! i feel super smitten with all my nice new things. i need to keep away from newtown for the sake of my wallet though. my only plans for the following week are work, work, work + the great australian bake off. july is going to be a really busy month for me (august too probably), but hopefully everything will pay off soon. i will try to post more outfit photos, but ive been wearing boring work clothes for the past few weeks.
